Ron is an independent director with many years of board experience in the private, not-for-profit and public sectors. During his career, he served as CFO of MT&T prior to the merger that created Bell Aliant, and then later as CFO of Nova Scotia Power and Emera, retiring in 2005. While a Director of Nova Scotia Business Inc., he served as Interim CEO from 2013 to 2015. Ron currently serves on the boards of Alamos Gold Inc., PROREIT, the IWK Health Centre, the Ombudsman for Banking Services and Investments and Engage Nova Scotia. He is the Chair of the board which governs the Nova Scotia Public Service Superannuation Fund and also Chair of the Western Regional Enterprise Network. In the past he has served on the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, the Board of Governors of Acadia University where he was Chair from 2004 to 2009 and The Arthritis Society where he was Chair of the national board from 2016 to 2018.
