Things to Do Development
The Dartmouth waterfront offers a number of opportunities to take in the harbour views by foot. You could hike the Dartmouth Harbourwalk Trail, which traces a 3.8km path from Alderney Landing to the Woodside Ferry Terminal, and includes the new Shubie Bridge. You can also take a self-guided tour along the beginning of the Shubenacadie Canal. Historical tours and reenactments are also offered along this 115 km long inland waterway. Start near the Dartmouth Ferry Terminal and look for the “Canal” signs.
While you explore the Dartmouth Harbourwalk, be sure to check out the Maitland Street community mural project to see how art lives and breathes on our beautiful waterfront.
Recreation
Visit the Peace Pavilion, whose unique triangular structure represents equality, unity, order and reason. Or, take a self-guided tour along the beginning of the Shubenacadie Canal – Nova Scotia’s 115 km long inland waterway. Start near the Dartmouth Ferry Terminal and look for the “Canal” signs.
