Sparkling water, a thriving downtown business core, a working port and harbour traffic combine to make the Halifax waterfront both a picturesque destination – and one of Nova Scotia’s most visited locations.
With the sparkling ocean and a working port as a backdrop, it’s no wonder that the Halifax waterfront is home to countless large and smaller world-class events each year. LIVE WEBCAM From genuine, hand-crafted crystal to unique gifts and souvenirs, the Halifax waterfront offers an array of shops that cater to the most discerning shoppers. Visit shops and seasonal kiosks along the waterfront for sea-side treasures, jewellery, pewter and folk art.
Nova Scotian Crystal
Some of the finest crystal in the world is made in Nova Scotia, Canada. On the scenic Halifax waterfront, NovaScotian Crystal follows a centuries-old tradition of mouth blowing and hand-cutting each and every piece. NovaScotian Crystal has established itself as something of a landmark on the city’s busy waterfront. The glassworks where our crystal is made often draws an audience. It is a marvel to see several craftsmen working together in a tightly choreographed dance with fire as they pull molten crystal from the clay oven and fashion it into things of beauty.

Over 65% of the images were obtained from the original glass negatives and printed in the dark room on museum quality archival paper the old fashioned way using traditional techniques, exactly like fine art photographers have used for over a century.
The staff at Back in Time Photos looks forward to assisting you in finding rare photographs of the past that you will find nowhere else and treasure always. The prints make great gifts for photo enthusiasts, vintage photo collectors, or anyone who can appreciate hanging a little piece of history on their walls.
